Summary of Activities Conducted by
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) 2022-23

1.1 Webinar for the new entrants of the college

On 1st September 2022, a webinar program was conducted for college students, in which Shri Anil Wali,Senior Manager, Broadridge pvt.ltd was the honourable guest. During the webinar, he addressed the students on career opportunities after completing a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree. The webinar aimed to provide guidance to students on career prospects and to help them make important decisions about their future career paths.
Shri Anil Wali shared valuable insights and advised the students, which could help them in pursuing a successful career after completing their BCA degree. It was an informative and engaging session for the students, and it provided them with an opportunity to learn from an experienced professional in the field.

1.2 Orientation Programs new entrants of the college

An orientation program for college students on 02 September 2022 has been organized with honorable guests Shri Ajit Runwal and Shri Ravikiran Algur to address the students regarding their respective field.
Shri Ajit Runwal, a Chartered Financial Analyst, address the students about the field of Chartered Financial Analyst/ CA and the career opportunities available in these fields. He provided insights into the various roles and responsibilities of a Chartered Accountant/Charted Financial Analyst and how students can pursue a career in these fields.
Shri Ravikiran Algur,Manager Siddasiri Bank, an expert in Marketing, address the students about the field of Marketing and the career opportunities available in this field. He will provide insights into the various aspects of Marketing and how students can develop skills in this area to pursue a successful career.
The program commence with an introduction of the guests, followed by their respective speeches, which will be followed by a question and answer session where students can clarify their doubts and seek further guidance from the experts.
The orientation program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the various career opportunities available in the fields of Charted Financial Analyst/Chartered Accountancy and Marketing. It will also provide students with an opportunity to interact with the experts and gain insights into their respective fields.
The program is open to all students of the college and was scheduled on 02 September 2022. All students are encouraged to attend and took benefit from this insightful session.

1.3 Interaction with Alumni Students.

On 01 and 02 September 2022, in the afternoon session, two alumni of our College, Kumari Sumaya Kaladagi, Software Engineer, T.C.S, pune, and Kumari Ashwini Kulkarni, Software Engineer, Wipro, Bangalore addressed the new entrant’s of the college. They talked about various problems that students often face during their college life, including exam preparations, attendance, and placements.
During the session, Kumari Sumaya Kaladagi shared her experience of preparing for exams while also managing other aspects of college life. She talked about the importance of time management and prioritizing tasks. She also advised students to make use of college resources such as library facilities and extra coaching classes, which can help them in their exam preparations.
Kumari Ashwini Kulkarni, on the other hand, talked about the importance of regular attendance and the impact it can have on the overall performance of students. She shared her experience of how attending lectures regularly helped her to understand the concepts better and perform well in exams. She also advised students to make a habit of attending classes regularly and to make use of digital tools such as online portals and college apps to stay updated with their attendance and academic progress.
Both alumni also talked about the importance of placements and how to prepare for them. They advised students to start preparing for placements early and to make use of college placement cells to enhance their employability. They also shared their personal experiences of facing interviews and how to present oneself confidently during an interview.
Overall, the session was an informative and engaging one for the students, who got valuable insights and advice from the alumni. The session highlighted the importance of time management, regular attendance, and career planning for students to have a successful college life and career ahead.

2. Innovations and Best Practices

 2.1. Initiatives taken by the institution to make the campus eco-friendly

a) Tree plantation in the land
b) Discourage the use of plastic bags, cups and water bottles
c) Using e-documents to reduce the use of paper
d) Honouring guests by presenting the bouquet made by students in programmes and events.
e) Creating awareness to switching off lights when not in use, save water.
f) Creating awareness to maintain silence in the campus.

 2.2. EDL(Everday Learning Program)

On April 15, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Vedant BCA and BCom College and ExcelR Solutions, a leading global training company in partnership with IBM, in collaboration with NASSCOM. This partnership aims to offer technical training courses for students under the Everyday Learning Program (EDL) and Faculty Learning Program(FDP).
The EDL program will provide training on technical courses such as data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital marketing to students, enabling them to enhance their skills and employability. The Faculty Learning Program will train college faculty members on new technologies and techniques in teaching, which they can then impart to their students.
The partnership with ExcelR Solutions and NASSCOM is a significant step towards providing quality education to students and helping them acquire skills that are in demand in today's job market. It also offers a unique opportunity for faculty members to enhance their teaching skills and provide better guidance to their students. Overall, this collaboration between Vedant BCA and BCom College, ExcelR Solutions, and NASSCOM is expected to benefit students, faculty members, and the education institution as a whole.

 2.3. Innovation introduced, which have created a positive impact on the functioning of the institution.

1. Free Wi-Fi routers are installed in campus for the benefit of students to collect online information for project work under the guidance of teachers and for other academic activities.
2. Notice boards have been affixed at different prominent places to display various notices connected with student attendance, placement information, current affairs, various time tables, information relating to scholarship, etc.
3. An automated attendance system for college students utilizes technology to streamline the process of recording and managing attendance. It replaces traditional manual methods, such as paper-based attendance registers or manual roll calls, with digital solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and convenience.
4. For every college, library is always considered as an asset. In order to improve its functioning, library has been made digital. With successful use of advanced scanners, the stock verification of library books has become more effective and less time consuming. College library has taken subscription for various news papers and magazines of various languages for e-resources and Digital library college has installed Digital library and created a separate room with computer accessibility.
5. To increase the effectiveness of the teaching, teachers have adopted innovative teaching process by involving sound systems and digital resources which helps to develop the students learning skills

 2.4. Preparatory Exams

In addition to Internal Assessment tests, the examination committee conducts preparatory exams every year at the end of the each semester for all the semesters of B.Com and BCA courses. It helps students to prepare for the final semester examination.

 2.5 Contribution to Environmental Awareness/ Protection

Conducted survey on electricity conservation in the vicinity of the college and created awareness on how to save electricity.
Under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan following activities were conducted :-
Cleanliness Drive by NSS team headed by Mr. Appasaheb S Hugar and students went on kerur village, vijayapur district to clean various places every nook and corner of bus stand,schools.Paper bags were made and distributed in the market area and awareness was created among the citizens regarding the problems arising out of the use of plastic bags and encouraged to use paper and cloth bags.,Tree plantation was undertaken in college land and its nearby areas.

3. Actions taken to improve the quality of the System

 3.1 Faculty Development Program

It’s an implementation of Faculty Development Program initiated in college premises On May 05, 2023 from ExcelR Solutions, a leading global training company in partnership with IBM, in collaboration with NASSCOM. technical training courses like Artificial Intelligence and Chat GPT for Faculty Faculties and the Program was successful.


 3.2 Community service

Our students have actively engaged in community service through internships and volunteering opportunities at Patil Foundation, Primary Health Centers, and Government Public Schools. Here's a summary of the community service done by our students:
1. Patil Foundation: Our students have volunteered at Patil Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on rural development and empowerment. They have supported various initiatives such as organizing health camps, conducting awareness programs on hygiene and sanitation, providing vocational training to rural communities, and facilitating community-driven development projects.
2. Primary Health Centers: Our students have volunteered at Primary Health Centers, which provide essential healthcare services to rural and underserved communities. They have assisted in medical camps, conducted health check-ups, facilitated health education programs, and helped in organizing immunization drives to promote preventive healthcare practices among the local population.
3. Government Public Schools: Our students have actively participated in community service at Government Public Schools, assisting in educational initiatives and promoting holistic development of students. They have volunteered as teaching assistants, conducted extracurricular activities, organized educational workshops, and provided support in infrastructure improvement projects to enhance the quality of education in underprivileged communities.
Through their community service at Patil Foundation, Primary Health Centers, and Government Public Schools, our students have demonstrated a strong commitment to social responsibility and have contributed towards improving the health, education, and well-being of marginalized communities. They have gained invaluable experiences and skills while making a positive impact on the lives of those in need, fostering a spirit of empathy and compassion in the process.

 3.3 Feedback from students:

The evaluation, quality assurance and promotion of effective teaching along with the smooth flow of curriculum are the core professional responsibilities of the academic staff and academic management. The Principal and HOD’s of the concerned departments take the feedback from students at proper intervals about the teaching and learning process.

Here the students gave their subject teachers grades as Excellent, Good, Satisfactory and Poor.The definition of each grade was made very clear to the students. The students’ response on teaching-learning and evaluation process was collected and analyzed. On the question of how much of the syllabi were covered in the class, teaching methodology, convincing skills communication with the students, supplying authentic notes, etc. The students who gave the grades less than excellent were asked to give objective reasons. These feedback sessions were kept very confidential and the name of students were not revealed. Teacher who had got grades less than excellent, were given these feedback and were guided and nurtured by respective HOD’s and if required by Principal himself.

Students were satisfied with the teaching methods. supplying of appropriate notes as per the syllabus. The students were happy with the environment of college.

 3.4 Syllabus Status Review Meeting

Every month, the cell conducts meeting with the teaching faculties of BCA and B.Com department to take a review about the syllabus of every subject. Prof S G Math, Chairman of the cell presides over the meeting and takes the review. To ensure the quality of every subject, a performa of attendance review, Assignment records, syllabus, notes will be provided to the faculties. A regular review of the same will be followed.

 3.5 Result Analysis

After every semester, as per the instruction of the Principal, analysis of the result is done for each semester. The Principal conducts a meeting on the results and takes the extract of the low scored students. He then instructs to the concerned mentor of that student to counsel and guide them for their improvement. HOD’s of the departments takes the review from the mentor about the response and performance of those students. This is followed rigorously.

4.Reports

 4.1 Human Resource Management Report:

1. Principal and Department Heads held the meeting of the staff to plan the academic activities and their proper implementation.
2. Different committees are formed to execute the academic activities in a planned way.
3. Employees reporting time and departure time of the working hours are made known to them in writing as per norms.
4. Principal has conducted the meeting regarding ESIC scheme and gave absolute information about the benefits of ESIC and procedure to claim the fund.
5. Daily timing attendance system have been implemented.
6. Faculties’ time table, weekly workload etc. are given as per norms.
7. Non-teaching staff work assignment is given to them in writing and details of the daily work done is taken on daily basis.
8. Employees are provided the leaves as per the rules admissible to them. Both teaching and non-teaching staff are given promotion/placement on higher scale as and when they become eligible for the same.
9. All employees are paid their salaries in the first week of every month.
10. Teachers are expected to prepare their lesson plan and are expected to submit the syllabus completion report as per the lesson plan to their respective departmental heads and in turn the heads monitors it and take the feedback regularly.
11. The examination results are properly analyzed and necessary directives are given to the subject teacher for the enhancement of the result.

Webinar on Financial awerness

On June 19th, Monday a workshop on financial awareness programme was conducted by knowise learning academy, Delhi in association with students guidance cell, IQAC of Vedant BCA & B.com college, vijayapura.
For the welcome function the cheif guest was Prof S.G.Math principal of Vedant BCA & B.com college, vijayapura & Prof. Jyoti Biradar HOD of commerce Department. A webinar on financial awerness, the resource person was Namrata Arora. Who joined us from Delhi.
She has given the knowledge about financial investment.
Where to invest, Avenues of investment, various schemes for the investment, portfolio management, stock market etc.

National Statistics day

On June 30th, National statistics day was celebrated in our Vedant BCA & B.com college conducted by IQAC & students guidance cell.
For the function the guests were our beloved Principal Prof. S.G.Math & Prof. Pooja. Patil.
Sir addressed the students & spoke about the importance of statistics & also given the information about why statistics day was celebrated, to remember the contribution given by Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalonobis to statistics field.

Orientation program for B.com 1st year

On 20th October 2023, Orientation program was conducted for B.com 1st year students by IQAC & students guidance cell of Vedant BCA & B.com college, vijayapur.
Chief guest for the program was Prof. Anusha. Sangondimath ( Ph.d scholar at Akkamahadevi women's University, vijayapur) another guest was Mr. Laxman. Kuvarkar ( senior process associate at TCS co.) other dignitaries on the dias were Prof. S.G.Math (principal of vedant BCA & B.com college), Prof. M.M.Kinagi ( Director of Vedant college), Prof. H.V. Kulkarni ( Director of Vedant college), Prof. Jyoti. Biradar ( HOD of BCA department)
Prof. S.G.Math has addressed the students & given brief introduction about college. Sir has even spoke about the guests & honoured him.
Our guest speakers have shared their work experience & has guided the B.com students in choosing the right path after completion of their degree.
Prof. M.M.Kinagi & Prof. Jyoti. Biradar have narrated about the college & course through power point presentation to the students.

kannada rajyosta celebration

On 1st November 2023, kannada rajyosta day was celebrated by IQAC cell of Vedant BCA & B.com college vijayapur.
Prof. S.G.Math ( principal of vedant college) shared his view on kannada rajyosta & also narrated the poems of prominent poets like Dattaraya Bendra & D.V. Gundappa. Prof. Sooguresh. Halasangi has spoke about the kannada rajyosta & he also spoke about importance of kannada.
